Some Big News!

For the first post on my new Website, I’m thrilled to share some big news.  In collaboration with Atelerix Press, five of my photography books are being republished as a five volume series called Building a Family – A Documentary Journey. The books will be available in both printed and Epub versions, and the first two volumes are already available online on Amazon.  Together, these five volumes trace the arc of intimate personal experience—marriage, childbirth or adoption, adolescence, early motherhood, parenting and aging—exploring each threshold in the process of forming a family.

I’m particularly excited about the new digital (Kindle/EPUB) format. Although very resistant to the idea at first, I was amazed to find that today’s high-resolution screens offer viewers/readers the photographic quality of an expensive coffee table print edition! Whether you’re viewing on a computer, a tablet, or a Kindle, the images have a wonderful richness and immediacy. (The experience has reminded me not to judge until I’ve seen something for myself.) 

Of course, hardcover printed versions will still be available for those who savor the weight of a volume in their hands.

My fondest hope is that these stories – collected across five decades – will resonate anew, reminding us family is not something outmoded or stuck in time.  It is something ever-evolving, tender, deeply human, and I can’t wait to share this journey with you again.
